The questions worth asking
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. There is nowhere to upload it to: the file is read, checked and saved by your browser, on your device. Disconnect from the internet once this page has loaded and everything still works — which is the easiest way to prove it to yourself.
How large a file can it open?
A 50,000-row file of 3.6 MB parses in under a tenth of a second and scrolls smoothly. The ceiling is the memory of your browser tab, not a plan you have to upgrade.
Will it change parts of the file I did not touch?
No. Open a file and export it without editing and you get the same bytes: the same line endings, the same byte order mark, the same quoting. Edit one cell and exactly one line changes.
Does it work offline?
Once the page has loaded, yes. Editing, validation, undo and export need no network at all.
Is it really free?
Yes — all of it, permanently. There is no paid tier, no trial that expires and no feature held back for one. The guides and conversion pages carry ads, which is what pays for the domain and the hosting; the editor itself stays out of the way.
